FAQs for Intense Pulsed Light treatment

What is the difference between IPL and laser?

IPL is a painless, non-aggressive service which does not require any type of anesthesia. It is a new system designed as a cosmetic treatment, so no medical supervision is necessary. IPL is recommended for everyone, except for people with dark skin or hair without pigment.

Laser treatments can be painful and sometimes require local anesthesia. They can be aggressive to the skin and in most cases yield minimal results on dark hair, or hair with little pigmentation. Laser treatment also requires the supervision of a physician.

Is IPL hair removal painful?

IPL is the most painless hair removal system on the market. IPL hair removal is generally not painful, though it varies from one client to another, depending on the sensitivity of the skin and the body area being treated.

Is IPL treatment permanent?

No depilatory treatment is absolutely permanent. Pulsazione has the latest technology in hair removal (Sub-Zero), a process that is quick, safe, and the longest lasting in the industry. Our treatments ensure that 80% of the hair will be removed. However, age, gender, or hormonal fluctuations may require one or two additional visits per year.

Are there any side effects to IPL?

The treated area may redden slightly for a few minutes after treatment. For some people the effects may continue for a few hours, or a rash may develop and disappear after a few days.

When is treatment not recommended?

It is not recommended to treat newly tanned skin (direct exposure to sunlight or UV rays), if you are taking medication that can lead to photosensitivity, or if the treatment area is dehydrated. These restrictions are assessed on a case by case basis by your Pulsazione centre specialist. Always make sure to take the proper precautions before treatment.

Can IPL can be done anywhere on the body?

The areas that are restricted from IPL treatment are the mucosal areas, areas near the eyes and the inner part of the genitals.

Cavitation treatment FAQs

How many sessions does it take?

You will begin to see results after the first session.

Will cellulite reappear after treatment?

Cavitation is a long lasting, efficient form of cellulite treatment. The fat cells that cause the accumulation of fat are destroyed during the process and thus the cellulite is removed. If you follow a balanced diet and exercise regularly, the desired results will be achieved. However, we do recommend occasional booster sessions.

Will Cavitation treatment help me lose weight or drop sizes?

It will help both. Cavitation eliminates the deposits of fat that add volume and weight to your body.

Is the Cavitation treatment painful?

No. Some patients with sensitive hearing may experience an uncomfortable beeping during treatment.

Is it necessary to undergo a special diet?

There is no need for a specialist diet, however following a balanced diet, drinking water and exercising is recommended. Each of these factors contribute to the effectiveness of our treatments.

Is it necessary to supplement Cavitation treatment with a cellulite cream?

It is not recommended. Cavitation is a fairly effective method that strengthens muscle and molds the body without the need for other treatments or creams.

Are there any side effects?

There are no known side effects, however, some people may experience red spots that disappear between one and two hours after a session. There have also been cases where the treatment has produced intense heat for several minutes.

Who should not seek treatment?

Women who are pregnant or nursing, people with liver disease, those who have ear implants, heart disease, pacemakers, diabetics and epileptics should not undergo Cavitation treatment.

How long does a session take?

The duration of each session depends on the treatment area. The treatment of a small area takes about 10 minutes. The entire face takes about 25 minutes.
